DOM image rollover question

Hi,
I found this cute DOM rollover script at chrispoole.com:
http://www.fo3nix.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/scripts/dom_image_rollover/

It doesn't do anything in Opera and NN4 (no errors), but works fine in IE5+, NN6+ and Mozilla on my Mac.

Does it work just as good in Win IE 5+ and 6?
Will it work in future versions until 2010 or longer? Am I not getting in trouble if I replace 10.000 onmouseover and onmouseout attributes with this script?

It's using DOM methods like getAttribute, so support is gonna be ie5+, gecko, opera 7 and probably koqueror 3; other browsers don't support the methods

I tried it in win ie6 and O7 and it was fine

... I wouldn't worry about 2010 - like your site won't have completely changed by then anyway ...

Actually, brothercake, IE4 supports obj.getAttribute(), just not document.getElementById()

go figure...
