Is there a text limit on the HTML <input> tag?
I have an hidden input tag and my browser (FF) stops working when I enter in about 8K of textual data in my Textarea object and then use JS to assign it's data to a hidden input tag object.

If you already have a textarea element, couldn't you use that content in the backend versus transferring it to a hidden element?

I'm using a textarea object as my main text field. I need to store its data into another object when I make my ajax call. I'm using a hidden <input> object since textarea doesn't support a hidden attribute. I'm thinking the input object is bumping up against a data size limit.
I don't know of any other html object that can be used to store the data as a secondary object that is hidden?

I'm reading mixed things on the web. But theoretically, the W3C says inputs are by default allowed unlimited characters.
I guess I'm still confused: you have two objects being sent as variables with the same content. So why not send it once?
Either way, this really looks to be more of an issue with your AJAX rather than an HTML issue. Let me know if you'd like this moved to the AJAX forum.
