View Full Version : Flush Bottom Div - What Am I Doing Wrong?

Hi all, I was wondering if anybody could help me out with this? I've been trying to redesign my art website, and wanted to create a div with navigation that is flush at the bottom of the page when there's not enough content to push it down, yet would still get pushed down when there *is* enough content.

I found one tutorial that demonstrates that this is possible, and how to do it, here (http://alistapart.com/articles/footers). I'm looking at "Example 2" in particular.

It appears to be pretty simple, and yet when I tried applying the little bit of code to my own site, it won't function the same. I've got it flush at the bottom of the browser...but it wants to stay at the bottom of the browser, not the bottom of the actual page, resulting in content being covered up by it. The page I've been working on is here (http://www.katewillaert.com/index.html).

Anyone care to take a look, and maybe let me know why it's not working for me?

well you don't need to absolutely position the footer and you should move it outside of the container.

Having your content absolutely positioned is going to case issues as well.

give this method a shot:

Your #content can't be positon:absolute. To center your #content use margin:auto; instead.

Wow, thanks for the help, that fixed it! Wish I'd come across that link before the other one!
