Hi all,

I have had some experience with PHP NUKE of the past few weeks, and I have found its DB Optimise feature excellent, when I run this feature it will gain back about 2k on some items

But now, I have decided that I do not want to use php nuke, but I would still like to optimise my db, does anyone know how this can be done.

I have looked at the hotscripts.com but found nothing any good for what I want to do

Any ideas?

Thanks all

I do not mean to be rude or annoy anyone, but could you please help me some more?

Spud, please be careful how you talk. A simple search in google would have brought the answer to your problem, and you could've been up and running by now! The site you need is http://www.phpmyadmin.net/ and PHPMyAdmin is a piece of serverside run software that can be used to administrate the MySQL database server.

Any more questions please feel free to post back :)

Jeewhizz,

Thanks for your reply...

Don’t you think that a little more advice would have been more helpful, when a novice asks a question I would have thought a little bit more help would have been needed?

The fact is I do use phpmyadmin, I used an old version, and my version obviously did not have the optimisation feature.

If you asked someone how to, for instance change the oil in there car and you said “the plug” that would no be very helpful would it.

then please think before you speak

However, if I had just said that is not helpful then I would have been flamed, so should I been extremely rude, or try and been tactful?

ALl you had to do was to ask the person to elaborate a bit more. Politeness isn't that hard... give it a try :)

If that does not have enough “Politeness” I don’t know what does ;)

Well if you notice when you asked to be more specific I was more specific and said the latest version has that feature.

But since you like to be rude I will no longer help you in the future.
