Could someone tell me if it's possible to put a cookie on my website which would in turn tell me who, what and when visited my site and if so how i get or build such a cookie. thanks

cookies are stored client-side and are used to store relevant information for the server to track repeat visitors and visitor preferences....i think what you need is a log analyzer...every webserver has an access log where it stores information about each (and every) request.
