I recently had my PC upgraded, last night something burnt inside it, my pc was working until a pulled the plug to kill the fires fuel, what could be the cause?
The fire wasn`t that serious, it went out easily, nothing else burnt just something inside, i had a look and nothing seemed fried.
When it was buring i could see an orange fire colour in the empty drive bay slot, there was a hissing and a smell.
any ideas of what the cause was?
cheers

AMD me laddo? :D:eek:
Does it still work?
But really, it can only be the cpu or psu. Although the header connecting psu to motherboard can melt thus frying the mobo. An AMD can catch fire quite quickly if it overheats. From your post earlier in the week asking about AMD's optimum temperature I'm worried the heatsink may not have been on properly or become dislodged.
I'd strip it down and look closer for signs of burning, remove the heatsink first to check the cpu for damage, naturally disconnect all power sources first.

Don't know much about hardware.
All I can say is tsk, tsk. I extend my warmest sympathies.
Something burnt in my own pc a few days back, on checking I found the rubber part of the harddisk smoking. And I hadn't made any backups...

So AMDs overheat easily then Mouse? Or is this just when you overclock? They don't overheat any quicker than any other processor, though if they do overheat they're lacking thermal throttling and their thermal shutdown can take too long to save the chip. Proper fitting of an adequate heatsink/fan should prevent any chip overheating.
