copy file on clients machine without

Can't be done. Think about it. Would you want someone -- anyone -- to copy a file onto your hard drive without you knowing about it? That's exactly what you're asking for.

If I want to do such a thing on intranet..Do I need identity impersonate
to edit?

It doesn't matter whether you are on an internet or the internet. It still can't be done.

The only way on an intranet would be to have the process on the server connect to a UNC share on the client computer. But even then, you'd need all that setup. There is no way to do it that the browser provides.
