I'm using a tutorial to download/install wikimedia. It directs me to:

# Install MediaWiki, the software that powers Wikipedia.

Download MediaWiki from here. Unzip and untar the package using a utility like 7-Zip. Rename the resulting folder from "media-wiki-1.5.8" to "mywikipedia" and move the entire directory to c:\wamp\www\mywikipedia\.

I can't get 7-zip to download. Well, actually it downloaded once, but then I had an error message that it could not open. Any other utilities good to untar?
Thanks.

Winrar if on Windoze. Any of the *nix family have tar programmes as standard.

Download 7zip (http://www.7zipdownload.org/) here. Worked for me anyway. I think there are also other free file archivers available if you really can't make 7zip work.
