trying to have 2 javascripts working on same page

I haven't learned javascript yet, but I am able to clip them & get them to work. I know more than one can run on a page, but it's not working for me with the 2 I have on the page linked to below.

The message box beneath the logo works-with the boat slideshow on the page or not.

The boat picture is in an image "slideshow". It works - if I remove the message box script from the page, if I put the message box back on, it dosn't work again.

Can anyone tell me what to change? Please.

You might want to check out this tutorial. It gives some suggestions on what may be causing your problem.
