Can I make a link for referrals?

I have a company who is sponsoring our conference/activities... and I have a link to their site up.

Is there any way for me to track the user? even if it's just general information... I've seen this sorta being done with some of those "points-based" companies, etc...

I think the sponsor might be interested, too, if we sent them the referral...

It would have to be done with a server side language to save the information. You can send a query string with the link on their site and it would save it to a database. With javascriupt, you are not going to be able to track it.
