Just a qn: What do you want from your hosting company?
Value for money?
Better control panels?
Better support? If so, in what way? phone? email? forum? instant messenger?
Do you want domains with your hosting, or do you purchase them separately from someone like 123-reg?
WOuld appreciate your answer! Esp since there are like 10 people on this forum at the mo!

Me being a techie person, I'd like to have as many platforms to work with as possible (PHP, MySQL, Perl, ZOPE, Apache of course, etc).
If the provider would provide access to .htaccess, I'd be really happy. But not every provider will take the risk.

I have gone through a few and I would say being able to contact help support through email or IM and get responses ASAP is number one on my list.

Freetype module
unlimited/multiple pop3/imap mail
multiple database MySQL
mod_rewrite, dunno the full capabilities of .htacess but blocking certain clients, image hotlinking and passworded directories is a must.
The ability to use multiple domains rather than buy and account and a name and be stuck like that.
Good stats, something you could query without having to work directly on the server log would be nice, maybe through a database or summit.

OK i got most of that sorted, bar having the stats in a dbase and ZOPE. Will hopefully having salbotron on there soon andy (!) and have htaccess support :) Support will be through IM, answermachine and email as well as a forum and knowledgebase... Should work out ok... anyone else got any ideas?

I'll decline for now. If you need it explained...
But I'll let this thread go back to the serious discussion. Posting whatever job openings you have would be nice, though.

I would prefer it if there were no little things that are hidden, e.g. those hosts who say that they have unlimited bandwidth or unlimited webspace when they clearly do not... it gets a lot of people frustrated.

Oh and use "bandwidth" when you mean bandwidth and "data transfer" when you mean that. I'm forever seeing companies quote 5Gb per month bandwidth and ignoring them thinking they don't know what they're talking about.
