I use dreamweaver mx 2004 . I insert a template in my website get used by almost all webpages well in the <head> I insert in each page some differ javascript , this will lost if I update template ?

You need to include an editable region in the head section of your template. Then, you can include javascript within that editable region in individual files.

The first thing you should do is to go to Dreamweaver's help facility and enter 'editable region' in the search box. You should then look at the sections labelled 'About Dreamweaver templates' and 'creating editable regions'.
