Error: Specified SQL Server Not Found

Hello everybody,
I have just installed SQL Server 7.0. But when i want to register a sql server it gives an error: specified SQL server not found.
But i anyway installed for a server, why it has been asking me a server. It have been a server, isn't it?

How can i add or create (i don't know) a sql server...

It didn't ask anything, pwd or dsn.
I have a book, which written by Rebecca M. Riordan. It says "After installing register a new server from" bla bla bla.
But when i want to register it gives this error:

SQL Server registration failed because of failure displayed below. Do you wish to Register anyway?

Specified SQL Server not found
ConnectionOpen(CreateFile())

But the book doesn't talk about this. According the book it could be work. :( :(
