If you search for a movie on amazon.com, the results will contain a variety of different versions and formats to choose from, yet every variation has the same ratings. This tells me that amazon uses a unique identifer that ties each variation together so that the main movie will be rated no matter which variation of the product a user is viewing when they rate the movie. (This is not the ASIN #, it is something else)

To investigate my assumption, I opened 3 browser windows, each containing a different version of the movie Fight Club. I noticed that each window's url contained the attribute qid=1196638129, which leads me to believe that perhaps this is the unique identifier I am looking for, but when searching the xml data returned for a search query on Fight Club, I am unable to find this number.

I wish to know how to find this unique identifier using the amazon associate program.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Many thanks
