How do you specify a border for Netscape layers, using the <layer> tag? :confused:

Can't remember if <layer style="border: 1 px solid #000000"> works with this primitive browser

you can put style in a layer, but it only supports a relatively primitive range of properties; border isn't one of them - but worse than that, if you apply it then a border will appear, but as a tiny box in the corner of the layer.

The easiest way to get thin borders in ns4 is two nested tables with bgcolor and cellpadding to create the border effect.

Thanks 4 that. I tried the style="border:1px solid black" and I tried border="1" bordercolor="black" but neither worked. No if you could answer me another question, do many people use NS4? I have it as a testing machine for my scripts but I dont know anyone else who uses it.

Visit this link (http://split-infinity.web1000.com/ecmenu) and see what I am making. It may not work in NS4 (YET);

Cheers, Matt.

I concur - treat netscape 4 like a legacy browser with no javascript or CSS support, and you won't go far wrong :)
