I am new to this business, and business in general. What I would like are some examples of a disclaimer letter that you would use when you begin working for a client. I plan to get indemnity insurance but I would also like to use disclaimers for backup.
I am in the UK so I am especially interested in what British living people have to say but also would like to hear from others.

You mean like a service agreement?
If so I would start by calling it a "service agreement". Does not sound as scary as "Disclaimer" or "contract".

Here is an excelent article from FeelanceSwitch.com (http://freelanceswitch.com) that talks about creating a contract & it includes a sample of the authors contract: http://freelanceswitch.com/clients/legalese-for-freelancers-creating-a-contract/
After reading that if you don't know where to start try searching microsoft templates. Here is a contract I found that your could easily adabt to fit your needs: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC062563061033.aspx?pid=CT101172451033
