search engin

if i design site contains E-books for free, and i need to make search engin in my site to search on the books by keyword.
is the only way to make this ,inserting all books in my database and design search engin with server side script, or there are another easier way to deal with 50 books(contain almost 10000 pages) in my site.

If I'm right, Google can read PDF's... so there must be a way to do it without putting all your 10.000 pages in a database. Not sure, but maybe there's a way to use Google as your site search engine?
