Im not a coder, but I need to know what kind of technology the text magnifier is made of on the following website. Flash? Be aware that there's annoying rock music present for those of you with speakers on :) I nearly had a heart-attack :)

Thanks for your time!

yes, an .swf is a file exported from Adobe Flash :)

not necessarily from adobe flash (insert one of the many versions here). There are tons of flash programs that can export .swf files. I, for example, use Koolmoves alot to make banners and small movies. It can export .swf files.

For this particular file, it is Adobe Flash. What they're doing is a common illusion used in flash. Instead of having one textarea and "magnifying" it, they've actually got two textareas (one small and one large). The large textarea is limited by a mask (the hourglass) and is linked to the mouse when the mouse enters the stage. It appears to be magnifying but in reality it's just showing the bigger of the two textareas.
