Hi guys! I am trying to figure out how to put forums, say a free forum hosting into my website? Here are some examples. http://www.mlgpro.com/forum/
http://www.bungie.net/Forums/default.aspx

If this requires PHP, then I do want to know how to install it. Do I put it in my website folder? Or C Drive?

First, are you running your own server or do you have it hosted by another company?
Second, it requires some server side programming - like PHP or ASP - most people prefer PHP because of its open-source nature.
Third, there are numerous scripts out there which are free and good, and should come with significant instructions on installation

phpBB is most definitely my favorite prefabricated forum, it has so many add-ons and is easy to manipulate even if you know little about php.

I have my website hosted by Freehostia. It does support PHP.

Well then you should be fine, I assume you have an FTP program letting you access your server, just upload your downloaded files to a folder called 'forum' or somthing and on your first visit the config.php will kick in asking you to set up the database info, ect.

It could either be a permissions issue with /includes, or the relative/absolute directory structure in the site settings (typically stored in config.php or something similar) is incorrect.

Make sure every file was uploaded to the server, and if they are post the code in that page around the line the error describes.

Something could have went wrong on the upload, maybe delete and try again.

Well that was sort of a sub-goal if you will. Now the main goal is to get the forums inside my actually website template.

I'm going to be honest with you, thats not such a good idea, all your going to do is cause problems for yourself, and while you think it's going to be more convenient for your users, you may be right in some aspect, but wrong in others. What I would suggest is to find a style (http://www.phpbb.com/styles/db/) that best fits your websites look and feel, or create your own styles. Forums are easily customizable and if you need to know how just ask specific questions here.
