I don't understand. Do you want

- help with installing or using a version of Windows?
- help with installing or using a different OS?
- to know how a specific OS actually works?
- something else?

I'll move this to programming as ultimately that's the route you'll need to take if you want to build an OS. Although it's the kind of thing where by if you don't know what your doing you've not a chance.

Shame Method wasn't around, wonder if his OS project ever got off the ground...

Ehm,GNU/Linux is the best example,just look at the code to see how it is done,or simple base your own OS on it.

Well well, some of us never use google I guess :D. If you are looking for the source code of an operation system, you can download Linux's source code. I guess you can also download amoeba or minix, a microkernal OS. If you could be more to the point it would be easy for us to help.
