Hi I was wondering if someone could advise / help me. I have used Gif Animators before namely ULEAD and JASC. I have macromedia flash (not the latest version) however I am not too familiar with this.
The problem is this - I have a static image/gif of a cartoon cow and I really want to animate it so that it looks like it is running across the bottom of my web page and stops when it gets to the other side. Any ideas on how I can do this??

You can make an animated GIF with flash, but flash does not do much with rasterized images (such as gif or jpg). If you are able to manipulate the image in any editor to get several different images of the cow to make it look like its running, then you could import those into Flash, put them in the frames, and export it as an animated GIF. The biggest problem is being able to edit a gif...its not easy to do without making it look goofy. What part do you need help with?

Hi, I managed to get my image to walk across the screen using flash and have managed to stop it looping. What I am trying to do now, and having difficulty with is this - in the last frame where the cow stops, I want text to fade in above and below it and then to fade out and be replaced with different text. I'm basically trying to create a logo where the cow is the emblum and there is wording around it in a circle that is replaced by different wording.

Iím not a Flash master but basically you would create a new movie clip (hit F8), and you would put that fading text there (motion tween), and then you insert that movie clip in the last frame of your general scene.

Hi, I am slowly but surely getting there. I inserted a new layer so that I now have two layers. The first layer contains my image which I have motion tweened. In the last frame I created a new layer which contains my static image and I have added the text to the top and bottom of the image and this now works. The cow walks across the screen from right to left and when it reaches the end the text appears.
I am now stuck on the final part and not sure whether to create a new layer / frame or what to do. I want the text to be replaced with different text so for example it first says 'Welcome' and then changes to 'My Club' for example.

You can have only one object tween per layer. So if you want another text to fade in/out at the same time, make a third layer and have the next text fade in, and fade out the second layer of text. Then as the last keyframe comes make sure the text doesn't fade out.
Then in publish settings (File->Publish Settings) make sure GIF is selected in the Formats tab, and then alter the properties of the GIF in the GIF tab.
