Here is what I want

if you put in http://www.url.com/blog/*

you could get many matches like:
http://www.url.com/blog/index.php
http://www.url.com/blog/post/10/12/07/
http://www.url.com/blog/search.php
etc;

or http://www.*.url.com
could be http://www.subdomain1.url.com/
http://www.sub2.url.com/
ect

This would be used for a navigation.
if(true) {echo"class=\"current\""}

Thanks for the help, I have little knowledge in PHP.

"So I looked up some things on a search engine, and I found this mod_rewrite tutorial. But when I try it, it isn't doing I tell it to do. Here is my .htaccess file: ......"

That's the part I was looking for. :)

Correct. Your question is not exotic, and has been asked many times.

Using various combinations of keywords that you have mentioned I come across several articles mentioning mod_rewrite. Since I mentioned it as well, it should be even easier for you to find something. All you had to do was enter the keywords 'php mod_rewrite' and you get plenty of tutorials.
