REcolouring a symbol?

Hello

I am trying to recolour this arrow symbol:

but am having difficulty doing so. I have greatly magnified it since I thought it would be easier to edit that way. What I would like to do is replace the symbol's red colour with the purple in the fill colour box (purple).

I have tried Break Apart and I can replace the colour with purple, but it fills the whole rectangular area.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well flash is not an image editor by trade, so if you really just want the image to change color - import it into some image editing program.
