View Full Version : How to implement Google Finance style table row overlays?

Hello all,

I was wondering if someone could please shed some light on something I'd like to be able to implement. I am trying to figure out how to implement the overlays shown in the Google Finance pages. Take a look at this (http://finance.google.com/finance?q=apple&hl=en) Google Finance page. If you go down to the Management section (at the bottom-right) and you hover your mouse over a row in the Management table, you'll see the effect I am looking at. The one where it shows that manager's details.

I've been playing around with this, trying to show/hide hidden table rows when hovering over a row, but I am not able to get this to work. Maybe there are examples out there on the web that show this technique? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I've looked around quite a bit but cannot find an answer.

Thank you.

might help. Set the position to 0, 0 to overwrite the div, un-tested for your situation, but it comes to mind as a possible solution.

Also, the method they use is on their page. Do a view source to find the id and class for the link to Steve Jobs.
Their css is in the head style section.
