What is the point in dual component? I guess enhanced power but in what way? I've googled and searched this category but failed to turn up anything on this subject.

I found some information after going through pages and pages of searc results.

It took me a while to find a site that wasn't trying to sell me dual components. :D

Well depends...

Some it's for redundancy, other's it's for load sharing...

Just depends on the device and it's function...

I use "dual" hard disk's in Raid 0, ths is basically two disks acting as one to achieve greater read/write speed. You can do all sorts with disks like mirroring and cominations of striping and mirroring.

Cpu's can be dualled to take advantage of software that sends multiple threads to the cpu, alot of CAD and 3D stuff does this as even the top cpu's take ages to render average quality work.

Dunno about other dual components, dual monitors is good again for cad people who need a large screen area. Dualling video cards used to be possible in the voodoo days.
