Its actually not ENOUGH code. We need to see all of your HTML to determine whether or not you are using a correct doctype. A link would be better so we can see the problem for ourselves.

Why do you have 2 widths and one with \ in it?

width: 14.4em;
w\idth: 13.9em;
Maybe that's what causing the problem.
