OK, so I'm not great with CSS and HTML, and so it's taken me many many hours (no, days in total) to get where I want to be with the site I'm building.

I'm finally there, nearly, and decide that I need to stretch a "background" image. I followed the tutorial at http://www.htmlite.com/faq022.php which seems to do the job nicely... it hasn't broken my page in firefox or in IE... except for one thing...

While it's fine in firefox, in IE6 I'm finding that I can't scroll the page. The page is all there... I can highlight the text and drag right to the bottom, but there's no scrollbar, and no mouse-scroll either. Is there a fix for this strange behaviour?

Change
html {
overflow-y: hidden;
}

to
html {
overflow-y: scroll;
}
But you may have to find someother trick to minimise height in IE in this case

Thanks very much for your help. In the end, I decided it wouldn't be possible for me to do and left it. I recently went back to the idea in a new way, via a page offering sample code at CSSplay... it worked a treat, but did create some z-index issues, which I managed to solve (I think!).
