i hav had an arguement with a friend of mine he says that making a website with dreamweaver is better because it gets a better finished product but you can do the same with html and it looks better to an employer so i want your opinions on it

It depends how you use Dreamweaver. If you use the design view of dreamweaver you are likely going to get something that looks like crap in a browser. If you use the code view, and code everything by hand properly then you can still get a decent product except now you know what the code does. I use DW all of the time. Its a tool and you have to know how to use it properly or its useless.

i can see what your talking about and i don't blame you but my mate uses it's design and we use it at school for national certificate so would it make it better if i used dreamweaver code and design rather than just code or just design

If your really are interested and serious about developing websites then you need to code it by hand. I think wysiwyg(what you see is what you get) editors can make it harder to achieve the look you are trying to accomplish.

see it totally depends on your method of writing a code, as u write than it can be done with HTML !! i didn't get your point coz you can create html code in Dreamweaver too.

And if you want to start using a server side language with your code, you are much better off writing the HTML by hand since you'll likely have to mix in server side code with it.

Dream Weaver is a tool to support you with all the HTML codings. It will help you maintain accuracy, speed and also help you escape from all those clumsy table and other formating codes.

I believe that using Dreamweaver is NOT exclusive of producing good code. Like has been said already, Dreamweaver is a tool. If you use it properly, you won't have any problems.

And for me, code view does have a use: when I'm editing content. By this point, I will already have templates, styles, layout, etc in place. Design view is useful for adding or editing content, since you can do edits without having to fuss over the markup. Although I always give that a once-over once done editing, just to be sure.
