Yeah missing a link, but if the text isn't centered make sure the containing block has a "text-align: center" rule in it.

It's not surprising me when the div is before the body tag:

<div id="body">
<body>

Thanks a lot.
How on earth did I miss that?

You missed it because you didn't validate the page... Something you've been encouraging others to do before.

I'll go away if that is what you want.

No need to be so self-deprecating or dramatic, but it is a good point--the W3C validation would have picked that up and saved you a lot of frustration. I don't think anyone was trying to be hostile about it. We all need a reminder to practice what we preach every now and then.

I don't see where I state that in my post before? :confused: I'm just saying that if you validated it, it would have caught it and you would have figured out this very simple problem by yourself instead of one of us doing it.

It is very okay to come for help here - after all that's what it's for, but we all encourage people to validate their page in question before asking. It eliminates the possibility that it is a coding error that causes the mistake. I hope you can see what I mean. This is a long, but very relevant read: http://diveintomark.org/archives/2003/05/05/why_we_wont_help_you

I do have a validator and I regularly use it.
I have added a screen shot of it.

You assumed that I had not validated it.

As the song used to say "It ain't what you say; it's the way that you say it."
Not you personally, but I have been rebuked several times whan I asked for help. Made to feel small. By people who think that they are good teachers.

Clever coders and obviously efficient but also obviously lacking in people skills.
NOT the mark of a good teacher.

I was annoyed and I have had my say.

I have removed the post.

I don't think the people who've helped you ever claimed that they were good teachers or wanted to be so. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll just rephrase that quote you gave: "It's not what they write. It's how you interpret it in your mind."

When writing in a forum we only have the written word, not mimics, pitch, etc. Elements that play a big role in everyday communication with other people, face to face.

I see you've edited this later on. Yes I assumed you hadn't validated it because if you did, the validator would have picked up the error... :rolleyes: So it doesn't really matter if I assumed this or not. But I can tell, you didn't.

sigh
