problem with "get time" from user, diff time zones

i use many variations of the "get time" script where it gets the user's time from his/her computer and uses that to display certain information. but the problem with this is, that i was to let's say count down to midnight (my time -- Eastern Time). but that script is counting down to whatever midnight the user's clock displays.

is there something as simple as including "ET" or something in the script to make it so it all counts down to eastern time?

getUTCDate functions returns the current time GMT(standard). EST is GMT-5 hours. you can just subtract to find the user's time zone and do some math from there
