How to disable S.M.A.R.T

I was trying to disable S.M.A.R.T in the system bios, but it displays as read only and I cannot change it. Is there another way to disable it?

AFAIK, no.

many bios's allow you to turn S.M.A.R.T on or off, but the question is why would you ?, it can save you heartache later on and only adds a second or 2 to boot time.
