recently, i have messed up with some services settings using services.msc, is there a way to restore things to default values... i just changed the startup type, unfortunately i forgot to export the settings or make a restore point...

symptoms i found, but still uncertain if this is the cause... failure to connect successfully in the Internet using dial-up, disconnecting at "verifying username and password"...seems to show that it's error 619 (remote pc not responding) or somewhat the unusual rasclient error code 829 (seems not existing)...

but anyway, i just wanted to know how to restore things to its default values...thanks!

While I don't think there is any program that can do this for you there are a lot of websites that tell you what services you need. Here is one of them: http://www.ss64.com/ntsyntax/services.html

In the future don't mess with your system settings you don't know what you are doing.

Have you checked a previous restore point?
I have on occasion been saved this way. Even though I had not conciously asked for a restore point.
Worth a try? After all it is reversable.
