i have win xp with all the service packs but when i run games using directx the games have somewhat fuzzy graphics like someone places a lense over the moniter, does anyone know how to fix this?
one person said that it was because of sp2 and that uninstalling that would fix it

You can test directx by selecting run => dxdiag here you can run a series of tests which might help determine whether it's a problem with direct x or not.
Initially I'd suggest an upgrade to dirextx 9 which has just been released. Also check to see if you gfx card might like updated drivers.

Which game(s) are you talking about?
And which video card do you have?

the gfx card is a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440, the game i've seen this in is populous: the beginning (old game) but i know other people have had the same problem with newer games

Hmmm.... I got two of those... I'll see if I notice any blurriness.
Are you using the Detinator40 drivers?

You might try turning off anti-aliasing (FSAA) if you're able o access such settings. Depending on which dets you use these can be reached through right clicking on the desktop, selecting properties -> settings -> advanced etc
Are you using a TFT by any chance? they can blur when their response time isn't quite quick enough...

the original driver pack was XTASY
the game runs fast and shows everything fine, the fuzzy parts are most obvious in a paneel that never changes

mmm, I could tell you what I've done to my GeForce3 Ti500 to improve clarity, it involved needlenose pliers and a magnifying glass though
Have you tried changing ingame resolutions? does that make it any different?
