jumping images with links

Hi
I am trying to put a border around linked images that only show on hover. I can make it work OK but the image jumps as soon as I hover over it. I tried putting a border that is the same color as the background around the non hover state for the link but this did not improve the jumping. Any ideas please?

Any sample code or link to show up?

place the same size border on the 'not hovered' images, but the colour of the background, so that 'on-hover', you are not adding the borders to the layout, just altering the colour.

and, yes, having some code would be nice. Post your code if you have trouble understanding my comments.

I had the image and link tabs the wrong way round before.
