View Full Version : What should this sell for?

I have a website that I made for my old web host (for free!), but I think he ran out of money and now all of his websites are dead. There is also a good chance that he committed suicide, he did talk about it in his blog before everything died. But anyway, I want to either sell or auction this website so that it doesn't go to waist.

I really dont know what it is worth so I'm hoping you guys can give me a estimate.

It is:
A full website
Fully XHTML 1.1 and CSS Valid
Not made with tables
Clean code
Only uses 2 images (1 is optional)
Because it only uses 2 images it is EXTREMELY customizable
Uses PHP
Works in all major browsers
Lowest resolution is 800x600Images of it are below:

Thank you.

$5? Theres really not much to it. Its barely more than you could get for free on any css layout demo site.

I agree, it's pretty plain.

$5! Thats it? People will pay more then that for it. They have to :(

Anyways, if i auction it, is sitepoint.com a good place to do it? Will i be able to make a profit (it costs $5 to make a auction)?

Why? The graphics are useless because they're brand specific. The rest is just a few orange and grey borders.

Compared to all these (which are free)

If you look at the prices on sitepoint, even the lowest price have way more to them than this.

Don't get my wrong, I'm not saying its crap. Just not something that someone would want to pay much money for.

And the real value in any site is in its potential monetization. Thing liks number of unique visitors / page views per month will determine value more than design. Other factors include:

Ad revenue
Product / referral sales
Membership base
Email base
Unique concept or functionality

and similar

Looking to sell an un-complete design will probably generate very little income for you.

i wouldnt pay anything for that as its the type of thing you can download of one of those tatty free web templates sites.

Maybe if you promised updates when needed, and put up some pictures of what it would look like if they customized it. I'd say maybe $20
