http://chantrybee.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/upuk/Sacri.html appears fine in IE7, but there are some gaps in between the header & content and the fotter & content. I cannot see for the life of me the problem, so if somebody could help that would be great. Cheers

thats because of your <p></p> tag for first & last paragraph.

OK, to remove the spaces completely while keeping all you tags as such
1) First of add a universal selector to remove all default margins and borders

*{
margin:0;
padding:0;
}
2) Then add a style like
style="display:block;" to your <img> tags

Best of luck!

thats because of your <p></p> tag for first & last paragraph.
i dont understand that, should the div not encompass the p tag, and all padding/margins?

display:block; worked just fine on the images thanks

margin-top: -16px;

in #content.

Is this proper? also it moves it up in ie. how do i set styles only for ie?
