Advice regarding Back button

I have a site where people pay via CC through Verisign. After successful payment, Verisign returns them to my site, but I don't want users to be able to hit the Back button or they might charge their card twice. Really they'd have to hit the button twice, but I've seen stranger things.

Is it best to just leave it be or should I try to figure out a way to clean out the history or disable the button (if its even possible at that point)?

You cannot disable the back-button, but you can replace the history entry eith the actual site.
Would that be useful for you?
