I recently had someone gain access to my PayPal account and I had to restore it by verifying my account via telephone. I have recently sold a large number of items on eBay, some with the value of over £25. At present, I cannot get to the funds as all the payments are pending as it is telling me to Confirm my email address with a note on my PayPal account homepage.
I have clicked 'Confirm email - Allows PayPal to send you an email to confirm your password.' numerous times and it states that PayPal have sent an email to my correct and current address. However, I have received nothing (and I have checked my Spam folder).
I've also raised three support tickets with them, receieved no auto response or reply from them.
I am currently calling them on 0800 358 7911 (from the UK) and have been on holdfor 19mins....the music is so bad as well!!!!
Has anyone else experienced this before?

Beware of the Phishes.
Getting any reply from PayPal is nearly impossible for me. I had an account years ago that I forgot my passcodes for, so I just opened up a new one.
When I tried to verify my personal information on this new account it tells me I have to call. So I call (several times before actually talking to anyone) and was told I'd have to FAX copies of my bank statements, SS card and valid ID.
I did this and weeks later still no change. So I emailed them and asked what was going on... they can't find my information and I'd have to mail copies to them. So I gave up on changing anything an am just hoping nothing comes up.
This is after they improved customer service. I hate to think what it was before!

this lot are a joke, had to hang up yesterday as I was on for so long!! Now on hold again and sitting at 41:26m. Pathetic! It's strange how after blocking access to my account they let me pay FOR stuff, but don't let me take money for selling stuff.
It wasn't a phishing email I got ArcticFox, it was when I actually logged into my account. Problem is - for me - I cannot sign up a new account as I have about £80 that should be in my current one! :-(

LOL! Also note that it is the weekend. The one person who might actually answer the phone is probably at the local pub with your money. -JK-
If I think about it I know it can be a BIG pain, but I've personally looked for other companies like eGold and found that PayPay is my only option for quick and easy online transactions, as well as a shopping cart that does what I want (with the help of e-Junkie).
For the record my transactions range from US$12 to $2000 each and I have not lost any money nor had any chargebacks or holds. In 3 disputes, PayPal has played an active part in the resolution process and I feel the outcomes of their decisions were true and fair. It's the "verification" that can be a chore if any sort of glitch appears - even if you've been with them since April 28, 2003. :(
Hopefully you'll be able to iron things out on the weekday.

Yeah, it is the weekend but surely someone could have answered the phone? If they have no staff to answer the phone then they should change the voicemail to say so.
I have lost money through PayPal before and it was quite a sore one, sold a £150 GBP mobile phone and then PayPal took the money back as they found it a fraudster called Daniel Crona from Littleton, Colorado USA, had been using a stolen credit card and shipping items to a woman called Irina in Ukraine (which is where my Samsung ended up!). I had to work away at it and they eventually gave me a £50-odd courtesy payment for the hassle.
It's sorted out now anyway, I FINALLY got an email through....it went into my spam folder to be fair. Verified the account and could confirm all the payments (thank god..) :-)
Again, to be fair when I have a bad item come through the post I have got my money back so they have been good in that way.
Let's hope my account isn't comprimised again........

cool, just noticed your comment on PayPay....signed up just there. Can it be integrated with eBay though? As i'm looking in the Merchant Tools in my account and it seems you have to specify the amount and item number.
