All of a sudden I am getting no audio in YouTube movies. The video plays fine, but not the audio. I get audio in all other programs, including other Flash-based movie sites, such as Break.com and even MySpace videos. Only YouTube is affected. This happens both on their site and on other sites where the movie is embedded.
Any ideas?
I recently installed Yahoo Messenger and am reluctant to uninstall unless I can pinpoint that as the cause. Anyone know if it could be? Anyone heard of conflicts between YouTube and anything like that?
I have visited Macromedia and have 9.0.47.0 installed successfully so....
Just really confused here! Hope someone can help

What are the specs on your system? I know on my computer I have a volume mixer that allows me to adjust the audio of each open program meaning I can have full volume on Windows Media Player but I can have no volume and all flash videos.

Nothing special about this thing, it's just a basic, standard-equipped Dell Dimension 3000 (Windows XP Home, fully updated/patched). And like I say, all other Flash plays audio fine, just not YouTube.

Okay sounds trivial but did you by chance hit the mute button on the you tube video? Its carried out through all of the videos you view.

It's official, I am a tool! :o
I didn't find a mute button, but the volume slider was all the way to minimum, which is maybe what you meant.
How it got there, I don't know since I adjust my volume manually, not onscreen, but thank you for having the sense to think of it.
Problem solved, thanks to you!

I had no sound with break, thanks for the advice about the sound control which was located on the video link. I had checked the computer audio slider and it was all the way up and the mute was not on. Funny how you have to look for sound controls which change all by themselves.:)
