It sends itself to all email addresses that exist in the Microsoft Windows Address Book, the MSN Messenger List, the Yahoo Pager list, and to specific email addresses that are contained in the worm. The worm randomly chooses the subject and body of the email message.

WARNING: this virus is not picked up in the mcafee scanner which scans hotmail attachments.

I dont know if ir really works, but I was told that if you enter a new contact in MS Outlook (Express) with the following:

Name: 00000
Last: 00000
Email: 000@00.com

Since everything in this entry are zeros, it will be on the top of your address book and because it is obviously an invalid email adress it will not be able to get past this to sent to other valid names in your adress book. I do not know if this works, but its worth trying. This wont protect your computer, but it should (in theory) protect those in your address book.

Luckily, I have made my own addressbook (ah the delights of C++), anyhow, I never use Windows' Address Book.

The MSN thing is iffy, this is the first worm that seems to use that...

One, I use Norton Anti-Virus 2003 Proffesional
Two, I use MS Outlook (not Express) (Maybe it doesn't matter)
Three, I don't use MSN
Four, I don't use Yahoo
Five, I don't open e-mails that have attachments before I know who they are from and know why they are sending me something
Six, I think my ISP scans for viruses and alerts people before allowing to download the files off the server.
Seven, I am too cool to get worms

I own...
lol ;)
