View Full Version : Bit of JavaScript guidance needed

Hi there.

Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question (I'm relatively new to JavaScript).

I'm doing a site that will require some JavaScript / possibly Ajax to load in the main content with some scriptaculous transition effects. I've included a design to give an idea. The main content is going to loaded (faded in) within the central area, and there is the option of closing (fading out) the central area with the close buttons ('x' in the top right).

I have a few questions regarding how to achieve this.

The scriptaculous examples all have the content marked-up in the one file, which is then revealed on a certain event. Now I imagine it would be inefficient I imagine to mark every "page" up within the one .html file to be reveled in such a way.

I would be very grateful if someone could explain roughly how best to achieve what I want or point me towards a suitable tutorial.

Kind regards
