Editing registry

hi all, i am using Win 98, i edit my registry by running from the start menu, run "regedit" but it says cannot find file or one of its components. So wads wrong with it actually, is there any other way i can access and edit my registry?

Run regedit from windows explorer. The file regedit.exe is in the folder \windows i guess. if not check \windows\system
