RSS Feeds

So a new group of sites that I'm working on (real estate) requires rss feeds which I've never done before.

I understand how to create the file...I think...but what I'm not sure how to do is how to get data to populate it. One of the tutorials I read through talked about self-scraping, feed integration, starting the feed, and 3rd party scraping. Which would I use and how do I go about using it?

I don't know if that made any sense, but like I said - I don't know that much about rss feeds. Any help is greatly appreciated!
