Hi All,

Please have a look at the following site, has a fixed layout for home page, and all other pages are 2cf. Some JavaScript is used for navigation within the site but not in the main menu.

I would like to know your comments/suggestions/criticism regarding layout/ color-combination etc.

PS: Some pages are still under construction/modification. Most of the contents are in Malayalam, and thus may not be readable for you:rolleyes:

Thanks and regards,
art.

I like your layout, Im usin Fire Fox, by the way, you should change your links at the bottom so they are not that horrible default blue colour, and maybe make your image a bit faded on the menu as the first letters are a little bit hard to read. You should try and keep your layout the same on all pages, colour scheme is good, and i like your design, well done.

If he likes that and want it that way, that's up to him to decide.

I'm out the door, I'll comment when I get home.

Okay, because you are asking for advice on color, layout, etc.... the blinds in the navigation are killing me. It's making you navigation hard to read and it looks amateur. How does it reflect your website? Is it pertinent to the information found there? If not I would get rid of it.

Overall your images could be higher quality. The dithering in the gif images could be spruced up.

Also, get some anti-aliasing on your curved corners if possible.

I second changing the default link color from blue to a warmer darker color for better color harmony.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm taking them seriously.

The images under the menu are just for some variety(to get rid of the conventional look).

I don't know what should replace the default blue , but just given a brown, I think it's OK now.
.. and I'm working on that curves.

art.

An easy way to clean up the rounded corners, since they are on a black background, is not make it a transparent gif. Make the image on a black background instead. it will automatically clean the jaggedness up.

the curves at the corners need some black matte.

That did the trick, many thanks. (I was struggling with smudge, blur, sharpen.. ;) )

Your top right image has a 1 pixel light blue (by the looks of it) line to the right. Still think the blinds are a little OTT on the navigation

Hmm.. I realise the fact. But when I reduce the opacity or fill of the image the text becomes more unreadable since it looks like faded. Could some one please suggest some other ideas to make it more readable without removing the current theme?

thanks,
art.

Open the blins image up in photoshop and play with the transparency, or change the colour levels, so that it is a little bit lighter...

here's an example of what i was talking about....

Obviously, you wouldn't have to change it so dramatically, but this is just to give you a rough idea. The lighter colour would make your text stand out more on the background, and it would be less hurtful to your eyes....

Thanks, I've applied a white layer having a fill of 25% on all the images. Now I hope it's OK
