Help!!!!

Hello people I have searched far and wide on the internet and have been unable to find a tutorial on how to do this so I wonder could someone in these forums be of any assistance. Well my friends and I have a website and we are trying to update it and we want one of the features to allow us to from a phpBB forum take the topics and puts them on a page any help or even a link to where I might find some would be awesome thank you in advance.

try something like

$sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM PHPBB_table ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1");
// change tablename accordingly.
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)) {
//out put the content change the rows accordingly
echo "$row['title'] - $row['author']";
echo '<BR />';
echo $row['content'];
}

Sorry but is there anyway I can get some explanation as well we are for lack of a better term n00bs with php thank you
