I plan on taking off the sides of my PC and replacing them with plexiglass. And eventually, im gonna cut holes on the bottom and place a colored fluresent light under there. I didn't come up with this, but ive seen it in a couple pc mags. Anybody have any ideas for other ways to customize a PC or thoughts it?

Personally I can think of better ways to spend my money rather than making something that most nobody will look at, better looking...

light tubing, those flexible tubes with different coloured lights inside wrap it around your cd rom drive with a clear front on the case and it might look good.

-sage- PC cases are generally hideous, why not make 'em pretty? if your PC is a constant evolution like mine is, spending money on a decent, attractive case that'll outlive the components within is fairly sensible I say*.

Personally I find windows silly; I mean there aren't even moving parts in there to see. Heatsinks and hard disks aren't exactly exciting. I bought a coolermaster 201 with a couple of aluminium facias. I have 7v psu fans which project a rippling blue light behind the case. I think most modded cases look like the PC version of ricers, generally done in bad taste. My advise is buy a nice case, do small classy mods rather than bling bling geek-mods. ;)

VFD mods can look quality on an aluminium case (VFD = vacuum flourecent display, like your VCR ;))

* and tell myself everytime I look at my £240 Coolermaster

Well you must excuse my primativity... My computer is basically always open (covers ripped off, hard drives hanging out)... It's a tool... It gets dirty... It gets used... To me, it's not like one of these showroom automobiles that you glitter up and chrome out and never drive... ;)

This is one of the best case jobs ever done. A little on the spendy side but cool looking.
