DivX Codec For Linux

I tried downloading DivX codec for Linux, found that it didn't work, and read that there are problems in the code. Is there some way to fix the files within DivX codec for Linux or is there an earlier version that I can download?

What distro are you using? Several of them have packages called something like Win32 codecs that has DivX, Xvid, and all those codecs in them.
