View Full Version : Splash page, what do you think?

I don't usually do splash pages but by having one for some reason I did this time.

Once I have finished the rest of the site it will automatically load the next page and you won't see the splash page again unless you reset your cookies.

But any ways the real point of this is to ask what you think. I've got a new theme to my site now you get the idea from the front page.

I tried your link but all I got were broken images. I'll try again later though...

Generally speaking I don't use or like splash pages, but for some reason I made one for the latest site I designed for a client. (check it out (http://www.webmarkart.com/licoa) ).

I think as long as it loads quickly, isn't too long, and automatically redirects to the main page they are fine. I can't stand it when it takes 30 seconds to load an intro page that adds nothing to the site.

never mind I tried checking out the link again and it worked. How long do you plan on having the splash page show for?

The page will only display to the user once unless they clear their cookies.

The images have been uploaded now.

It looks good, but I hate sites with a splash... when that is they have a html/asp/php/net site at the end of it.

I always found that splash pages would only be applied for sites that have flash within them, just to let people know that they need flash, like 2advanced, or if they have some longwinded intro page... which is often annoying as hell.

Can't you put all that info on to your main page, there does not seem to be much apart from the amount of visitors you have had.

Just a thought.

Hmmm... Well after much thought I am going to take it down.
That is after the site is finsihed. I'm almost done.

For the moment it is just a place holder for the site. I haven't said anything about that on the splash but it shouldn't be long until it is up.

Merry Christmas peeps! :)

I like it. :)

lol, I think it's supposed to do that? :p

Mhtml said it's only a placeholder until he does the site, so don't expect it to do anything! :D

Merry Christmas Everyone!
