How do I set Fireworks to auto save my images as .jpg instead of .gif?
Thanks!

It's been a while since i've used that app but You mean when you've sliced up your image and are ready to export yeah?
When you slice up ****, each slice will probably be .gif by default until you change/optimize it, this is set using the optimize palette.

Glad i could help :)
It not only defaults to .gif but also a gif with 256 colors (the largest amount) and therefore the largest file size and because in most cases you would get away with using less colors (32, even 2 in some cases) make sure you play with this a bit so that you get a low file size (may or may not be important to you)
more colors > more kb
generally it goes [ photo, texture, detailed etc = .jpg ] & [ block, solid colors, vector type graphics = .gif ]
