hi rafiki,

BPO is the short form of Business Process Outsourcing.. This is a job done by a third party on-behalf of the company.. this may save enormous time and labor and money for the outsourcing company.. normally there are numerous processes. The third party who is undertaking the process on behalf of the company, should be skilled in that process. BPO mainly depends on quantity, size and repeated process.

and my question is what is KPO and how it differs from BPO..

"Business Process Outsourcing." Hmm. We used to call it "freelancing" or "consulting." But I guess one-word titles are out because you can't make them into acronyms. ;)

BPO is synonymous with CCTDDWISTAITLTEUCDWDCWHC (cheap code that doesn't do what it's supposed to and in the long term ends up costing double what domestic code would have cost).

Also, see ACOOW (American coders out of work)

It took me the whole six months I was looking for a @#$! job which are hard to come by due to rampant overseas outsourcing :p

There is vindication though. All of the non-working-piece-of-crap outsourced systems these big companies invested in over the last 7 years are coming back to bite them, and bite them hard, so these idiot bean counters are finally beginning to realize they can save a bit of money with up-front development costs by outsourcing, but then they have to pay domestic coders to try make things work and in the long run it is not saving any money-- quite the contrary, it is costing more money. TAKE THAT YOU EVIL BEAN COUNTERS!!!

Deva, I'm not sure how this is relevant to "Geek News and humor". It's important to not turn this forum into a general discussions area. Due to the # of replies already I'll keep this thread open.

Ha Ha! You always get what you pay for, one way or the other! But now you have extra work. Charge a nuisance fee! ;)

I agree, I think when you outsource overseas you are asking for a lot of headaches not to mention people are looking for work in the states.
